Regular Season Round 17: Langen - Koblenz 52-76

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Koblenz (11-5) outleveled on the road 7th ranked TV Langen (8-8) 76-52 on Saturday. Koblenz forced 20 TV Langen turnovers and had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Paulius Semaska (185-93) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 assists for the winners and Latvian center Martins Abele (213-90, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Koblenz players scored in double figures. American forward Preston Ross (198, college: Winston Salem) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Timothy Chabot (189-96) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. TV Langen's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Koblenz. They moved-up to second place in South-West, which they share with Limburg and Karlsruhe SC. Loser TV Langen keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Koblenz will face Lich II (#6) at home in the next round. TV Langen will play against Mainz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
