An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Muenchen. Third ranked Bayer Giants faced 4th ranked FC Bayern II. Guests from Leverkusen (11-5) defeated host FC Bayern II (9-6) 75-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FC Bayern II. Bayer Giants forced 23 FC Bayern II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kerry Carter (188-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals and the other American import forward Brandon Nazione (202-94, college: E.Michigan) who added 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Karim Jallow (199-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Georg Beyschlag (182-97) scored 18 points and 4 assists. FC Bayern II's coach Oliver Kostic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bayer Giants moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Weissenhorn. Newly promoted FC Bayern II dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Bayer Giants will meet Licher Basket (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. FC Bayern II will play against the league's second-placed Weissenhorn Youngstars and hope to secure a win.
