There was an upset when higher ranked Piacenza (10-8) was outleveled by tenth ranked Verona (9-9) in Casalpusterlengo 83-63 on Sunday. Verona dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Piacenza's 20. It was a good game for American point guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import guard Michael Frazier (193-94, college: Florida) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Verona players scored in double figures. American guard Kenny Hasbrouck (191-86, college: Siena) replied with 20 points and point guard Riccardo Rossato (190-96) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Piacenza. Verona moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Piacenza keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Verona will face higher ranked Alma Trieste (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
