Regular Season Round 29: Fuerza Regia - Abejas 92-72

LNBP top team - Fuerza Regia (29-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Abejas (9-21) in Monterrey 92-72. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Abejas' players. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and international forward Juan Anderson (198-93, college: Marquette) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia's coach Paco Olmos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) responded with 17 points and M Hays scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Fuerza Regia have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 29-1 record. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 21 games lost. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to face league's second-placed Panteras in Aguascalientes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Abejas will play on the road against Toros (#5) in Nuevo Laredo and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
