Regular Season Round 17: Porto S.Elpidio - Matera 100-76

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Matera's (9-6) road loss to sixth ranked Porto S.Elpidio (11-6) 76-100 on Sunday. Porto S.Elpidio shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 64.5 percentage. Guard Stefano Cernivani (190-91) stepped up and scored 25 points (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and swingman Fabio Lovatti (192-89) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Nicolo Ravazzani (200-85) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Matera's coach Roberto Miriello gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Porto S.Elpidio moved-up to fifth place in B, which they share with Faenza. Loser Matera keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Porto S.Elpidio will face Monteroni (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Matera will play against Senigallia (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
