The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Virtus Bologna (14-3) in Mirandola on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Mantova (11-7) 77-74. It was a good game for swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward Francesco Candussi (211-94) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Mantova's coach Alberto Martelossi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Guido Rosselli (198-83) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Virtus Bologna. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mantova moved-up to fourth place in A2. Virtus Bologna at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Mantova are looking forward to face Bondi Ferrara (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Virtus Bologna will play against Ravenna (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
