Regular Season Round 16: Provence Basket - Bourg 72-75

Top ranked Provence Basket (13-3) recorded its third loss in Fos-sur-Mer on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked JL Bourg (12-4) 75-72. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-18. But Provence Basket won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Provence Basket 38-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) produced 20 points and his fellow American import center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. JL Bourg have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record behind leader Provence Basket. Provence Basket at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. JL Bourg are looking forward to face ADA Blois (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Provence Basket will play against Saint-Quentin (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
