There was no surprise in Uusikaupunki where 10th ranked UU-Korihait (4-18) was defeated by fifth ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (13-10) 86-75 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 54-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lapuan Korikobrat made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) chipped in 18 points. American guard Emmanuel Holloway (185-86, college: Illinois St., agency: Blacktop Management) produced 17 points and 4 assists and Mikael Herbert (205-93, college: Tulane) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Lapuan Korikobrat and four UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. Lapuan Korikobrat moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kauhajoki. UU-Korihait lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Lapuan Korikobrat is looking forward to face higher ranked Joensuun Kataja (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UU-Korihait will play against BC Nokia (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
