Regular Season Round 4: Blumenau - Sampaio 57-60

A very close game took place in Blumenau between Sampaio and Blumenau. Fourth ranked Sampaio (4-4) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Blumenau (2-6). Sampaio managed to escape with a 3-point win 60-57 on Wednesday evening. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Leticia Rodrigues (190-95) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds and Vitoria Marcelino who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Sampaio players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) responded with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Leila Zabani (181-91) scored 15 points. Blumenau's coach Joao Almeida tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sampaio have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Santo Andre. Newly promoted Blumenau keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Pres.Valceslau. Sampaio will meet league's leader Corinthians/Americana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Blumenau will play against Pres.Valceslau (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
