Regular Season Round 16: Levski - Cherno More 79-70

Bottom-ranked Levski managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Cherno More in Sofia 79-70. Levski made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Levski outrebounded Cherno More 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Veselin Veselinov (202-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and international guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) who added 17 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) during the contest. Five Levski players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Deyan Karamfilov (180-94) responded with 21 points, 7 assists and 7 steals and Bosnian Mrdan Markovic (-83) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Cherno More's coach Spas Natov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Levski maintains ninth position with 3-12 record. Cherno More lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Levski will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cherno More will play against Yambol (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
