Regular Season Round 20: GET Vosges - Gries/Oberhoffen 70-67

Fifteenth-ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (7-12) gave a tough game to fifth ranked GET Vosges (13-7) in Golbey. GET Vosges managed to secure only three-point victory 70-67. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gries/Oberhoffen. It looked good early as Gries/Oberhoffen took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then GET Vosges had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Gries/Oberhoffen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-70. Swingman Steven Ricard (200-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Masse Doumbe (203-87, college: Kaiser) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) added 19 points in the effort for Gries/Oberhoffen. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. GET Vosges have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 13-7 record. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen dropped to the sixteenth place with 12 games lost. GET Vosges' next round opponent will be Lourdes-Tarbes (#9) at home. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against CFBB (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
