There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Paterna (7-8) beat at home 5th ranked Valencia-2 (7-7) 72-65 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Jacobo Hofmann (198-92) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Center Alberto Valero (200-91) chipped in 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Paterna's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Alejandro Vera (200-97) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Carlos Cerdan (190-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Paterna moved-up to sixth place in Group E, which they share with Benidorm and Sagunto. Loser Valencia-2 keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Paterna will face league's leader Myrtia in Murcia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valencia-2 will play at home against Benidorm (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
