Regular Season Round 18: Cambados - Lucentum 87-69

The game in Cambados was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Meridiano Alicante (12-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Cambados (11-7). Cambados did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 87-69 on Saturday. Cambados made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Meridiano Alicante turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Cambados especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Meridiano Alicante was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Adria Baiget (190-89) who led his team to a victory with 26 points. British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Cambados players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian guard Mike Balogun (188-91, college: Arkansas Tech) replied with 15 points and forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Meridiano Alicante. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cambados moved-up to fifth place. Loser Meridiano Alicante keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Cambados will face Zornotza (#10) in Amorebieta-Echano in the next round where they are favorite. Meridiano Alicante will play at home against Agustinos-Leclerc (#11) and hope to win that game.
