Regular Season Round 17: Benidorm - Sagunto 83-65

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Sagunto (7-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Benidorm (7-8) 83-65 on Saturday. Benidorm made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Benidorm outrebounded Sagunto 54-25 including a 46-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Julian Lewis (196, college: Lewis) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Francisco Solsona (198-89) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Four Benidorm players scored in double figures. German-Polish power forward Alexander Machowski (205-91) produced 7 points and 9 rebounds and American Nicolas Boscafiori (201-92) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Sagunto's coach Pau Gaya let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Benidorm moved-up to sixth place in Group E, which they share with Paterna and Sagunto. Benidorm will face higher ranked Valencia-2 (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
