Regular Season Round 17: Sitges - Muro Basquet 58-65

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Muro Basquet (6-8) defeated on the road 12th ranked Sitges (3-10) 65-58 on Saturday. They outrebounded Sitges 43-29 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sitges was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Jonathan Graham (203-91, college: Maryland) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Andreu Adrover (184-95) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Roger Perez produced 14 points and center Eduard Riu (202-82) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Sitges' coach Eduardo Pinero let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Muro Basquet moved-up to eighth place in Group C-B. Sitges lost their ninth game in a row. Sitges at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Muro Basquet will face higher ranked Vive El Masnou (#7) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sitges will play on the road against Valls Nutrion (#9) and hope to win that game.
