Regular Season Round 17: Mondragon - Easo 71-75

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Easo (11-3) beat on the road 9th ranked Mondragon (5-9) 75-71 on Saturday. Easo dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Mondragon's 18. They outrebounded Mondragon 47-30 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Inigo Del Valle (188-87) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Inigo Sarasola (207-95) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Easo players scored in double figures. Andoni Aranzabal (188-91) produced 21 points and point guard Imanol Ceciaga (186-90) added 9 points and 10 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Easo. They moved-up to second place in Group A-A, which they share with Ardoi. Loser Mondragon dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Easo will face league's second-placed Ardoi in Zizur Mayor in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mondragon will play on the road against TAKE Tolosa (#14) and hope to win that game.
