Regular Season Round 17: Gijon - Seis do Nadal 97-67

Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Gijon (5-9) outscored at home bottom-ranked Seis do Nadal (0-14) 97-67 on Saturday. Gijon shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Seis do Nadal's players. The best player for the winners was forward Dani Gonzalez (202-84) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Point guard Angel Moro (182-93) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists. Gijon's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Pablo Gonzalez (196-89) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Jonathan Alvarez (203-96) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Gijon and four Seis do Nadal players scored in double figures. Gijon moved-up to eleventh place in Group A-B, which they share with Rosalia. Seis do Nadal lost their fourteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Gijon will face Rosalia (#11) in Santiago de Camp. in the next round. Seis do Nadal will play at home against Naron and hopes to get finally their first victory.
