There was a small surprise in Ourense where seventh ranked BVM 2012 (8-5) defeated 4th placed Calidus Gal.COB (8-5) 68-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Brazilian center Dida Pereira (203-92, college: Sequoias CC) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: Amer.Internat., agency: Duran International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) produced 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Xabier Arriaga (202-97, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for BVM 2012. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A-B, which they share with defeated Calidus Gal.COB. BVM 2012 will face La Fecha (#9) in Arroyo Encomienda in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Calidus Gal.COB will play at home against Ponferrada CDP (#7) and hope to win that game.
