Not a big story in a game in Malaag where 8th ranked Novaschool (4-9) was defeated by second ranked Medacbasket (8-6) 95-90 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Medacbasket made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Novaschool was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Taylor Cameron (196-91, college: Winona St.) who scored 29 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import guard David McDaniel (-91, college: Elms) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Fernando Ferruz (180) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Medacbasket and five Novaschool players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Medacbasket. They maintain second place in Group D-A with 8-6 record having four points less than leader Chantada. Novaschool lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
