Regular Season Round 17: Sant Adria - Igualada 84-88

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Igualada (5-9) won against on the road 4th placed Sant Adria (8-6) 88-84 on Saturday. Strangely Sant Adria outrebounded Igualada 42-30 including 20 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Jordi Torres (188-83) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Adria Gual (185-93) chipped in 20 points. Power forward Alberto Reyes (195-90) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized Venezuelan power forward Luis Gonzalez (200-85) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Igualada and four Sant Adria players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Igualada moved-up to eighth place in Group C-B, which they share with Valls Nutrion. Newly promoted Sant Adria dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Igualada will face league's leader Quart at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
