Regular Season Round 16: Namika Lr - PeU-Basket 70-84

Not a big story in a game in Lappeenranta where 13th ranked Namika Lr (2-15) was defeated by tenth ranked PeU-Basket (6-12) 84-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by PeU-Basket. Namika Lr was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Namika Lr 41-24 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tiel Daniels (200-92, college: Colorado St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and forward Riku Laine (197-97) who added 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and swingman Anttoni Tapio (193-92) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Namika Lr's coach gave the chance to play for ten players saving starting five for next games. PeU-Basket maintains tenth position in Division with 6-12 record. Loser Namika Lr keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. PeU-Basket will face league's second-placed PuHu Juniorit in Vantaa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Namika Lr will play on the road against HNMKY U23 (#8) in Helsinki and hope to win that game.
