Regular Season Round 19: Znicz Basket - Polonia Leszno 56-67

Everything went according to plan in Pruszkow where fifth ranked Polonia Leszno (14-7) beat 10th ranked Znicz Basket (7-12) 67-56. Polonia Leszno forced 19 Znicz Basket turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Znicz Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for swingman Tomasz Stepien (192-86) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Jakub Koelner (183-93) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Center Damian Cechniak (208-93) answered with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Damian Tokarski (193-88) added 16 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in the effort for Znicz Basket. Znicz Basket's coach Marek Zapalowski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Polonia Leszno. They moved-up to fourth place. Znicz Basket at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Polonia Leszno's next round opponent will be AZS AGH Krk. (#13) in Krakow and are hoping to win another game. Znicz Basket will play at home against GTK Gliwice and hope to win that game.
