Regular Season Round 18: Oleggio - Sangiorgese 79-64

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Oleggio (7-11) beat at home 12th ranked Sangiorgese (7-11) 79-64 on Saturday. Oleggio dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sangiorgese's 30. They outrebounded Sangiorgese 40-22 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Filiberto Dri (190-89) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Edoardo Gallazzi (200-86) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Oleggio players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Simone Tomasini (196-93) who recorded 19 points and forward Daniele Mario Benzoni (196-80) added 13 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oleggio moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Desio and Milano Urania. Oleggio will face higher ranked Valsesia (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
