Regular Season Round 16: Ensino - Valladolid 70-68

Not a big story in a game in Lugo where 14th ranked Ponce Valladolid (3-13) was edged by ninth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (7-9) 70-68 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and guard Alba Prieto (180-99) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side American guard Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) responded with 29 points and 4 steals and center Alejandra De La Fuente (193-88) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Maquinaria Ensino maintains ninth position in Group A with 7-9 record. Ponce Valladolid lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face Real Celta Vigo (#10) on the road in the next round. Ponce Valladolid will play against ADBA (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
