The game in Sakiai was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Perlas-MRU (17-14) played at the court of seventh ranked Vytis (15-16). Vytis did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 74-56. The game was mostly controlled by Vytis. Perlas-MRU was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Perlas-MRU to just 6 points in first quarter. Vytis forced 20 Perlas-MRU turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) notched 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Augustinas Jankaitis (205-94) supported him with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Vytis' coach Virginijus Sirvydis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 10 points and 8 rebounds by forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Forward Arnas Berucka (195-97) added 12 points and 5 assists. Vytis maintains seventh position with 15-16 record, which they share with Palanga. Perlas-MRU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Silute and Zalgiris II. Vytis will play against league's second-placed Nafta-Uni. in Klaipeda in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Perlas-MRU will play at home against Telsiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
