Regular Season Round 17: Innova Chef - Leon 72-84

Not a big story in a game in Zamora where 10th ranked Innova Chef (6-8) was defeated by third ranked Leon (10-4) 84-72 on Sunday. Leon dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Innova Chef's 36. They outrebounded Innova Chef 43-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Matt Wilson (206-92, college: Hartwick, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import Ted Hinnenkamp (201-93, college: Dickinson, agency: Duran International) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Dionte Adams (201-94, college: Hampton) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Four Innova Chef players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leon moved-up to second place in Group A-B, which they share with Estudiantes L. Loser Innova Chef dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Leon will face Vigo VGO (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Innova Chef will play against the league's second-placed Estudiantes L. (#2) in Lugo and hope to win that game.
