Important game to mention about took place in Dnepropetrovsk. Fifth ranked Dnipro-2 (7-11) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Niko-Basket (8-10) 69-67 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Niko-Basket. Niko-Basket was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 16-13 charge of Dnipro-2, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 24 Niko-Basket turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Georgiy Altuhov (180-96) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and center Vitalii Kravets (202-98) who added 9 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Vadim Zaplotinskiy (200-97) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Sergiy Vershinin (195-95) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Niko-Basket players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Dnipro-2 maintains fifth position with 7-11 record. Niko-Basket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Dnipro-2 will play against SumDU (#6) in Sumy in the next round. Niko-Basket will play at home against Azovmash and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
