Regular Season Round 17: Vigo VGO - Rosalia 60-57

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Vigo VGO (4-10) edged at home 11th ranked Rosalia (5-9) 60-57 on Sunday. They outrebounded Rosalia 42-24 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Nick Grieves (193-92, college: CS East Bay) chipped in 16 points. Murphy is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Power forward Alfonso Mallo (200-88) produced 10 points and 5 rebounds and guard Anton Bouzan (188-95) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Rosalia's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Vigo VGO maintains thirteenth place in Group A-B with 4-10 record. Loser Rosalia keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Vigo VGO will face higher ranked Leon (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
