Regular Season Round 19: Joventut - Andorra 74-59
Date: January 29, 2017
We should mention about the upset which took place in Badalona, where higher ranked Andorra (10-8) lost to sixteenth ranked Joventut (5-13) in a road game 59-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Andorra. It looked good early as Andorra took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Joventut had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Andorra was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-74. Worth to mention a great performance of FYR Macedonian point guard Nenad Dimitrijevic (187-98) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Sergi Vidal (199-81) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman David Navarro (189-83) answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Andorra. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Joventut moved-up to fifteenth place. Andorra at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Gran Canaria. Joventut will play against league's second-placed CB Canarias in Tenerife in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Andorra will play at home against Baskonia (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
