There was no surprise in Poznan where 12th ranked Kotwica (7-13) was defeated by eighth ranked Biofarm PZN (10-10) 65-59 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Biofarm PZN outrebounded Kotwica 44-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Filip Struski (200-94) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Center Adam Metelski (206-83, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Biofarm PZN's coach Przemyslaw Szurek allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Patryk Przyborowski (195-90, agency: Promotex) produced 17 points and guard Adrian Sulinski (185-89, agency: Promotex) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Biofarm PZN have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 10-10 record. Kotwica lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Biofarm PZN will face league's leader Sokol Lancut on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kotwica will play against Astoria Bydg. (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
