Regular Season Round 5: Kentucky M. - Ohio Bootleggers 130-100

Date: February 2, 2017
Rather expected game in Owensboro where 5th ranked Bootleggers (4-3) were crushed by third ranked Mavericks (5-1) 130-100. They made 29-of-33 charity shots (87.9 percent) during the game. Mavericks outrebounded Bootleggers 51-29 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bootleggers' players. Bootleggers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Nicholas Waddell (200-90, college: Grand Valley St.) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Anthony Jackson (180-85) accounted for 22 points. Five Mavericks players scored in double figures. Guard Cordaryl Ballard (196-87, college: USC Aiken) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Tony Anderson II (206-97, college: SE Missouri St.) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Bootleggers in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mavericks have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-1 record behind leader Chautauqua H. Bootleggers at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Mavericks will play against bottom-ranked Dream (#8) in Dubois in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bootleggers will play on the road against Warhawks (#7) in Washington and hope to get back on the winning track.
