Regular Season Round 32: Correcaminos - Toros 83-97

Very expected game in Ciudad Victoria where 10th ranked Correcaminos (6-26) were defeated by fourth ranked Toros (19-13) 97-83. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Correcaminos was better in fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toros shot 64.7 percent from the field and made 23-of-24 charity shots (95.8 percent) during the game. Toros had a 25-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Toros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Correcaminos were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward Lorrenzo Wade (201-85, college: San Diego St., agency: DTMones) who scored that evening 29 points and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 27 points by American guard Dekabriean Eldridge (191, college: N.Mexico JC) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Five Toros and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Toros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Correcaminos lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Toros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play again at home against Toros (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
