Regular Season Round 18: Valls Nutrion - Sitges 77-64

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Sitges (3-11) lost on the road to ninth ranked Valls Nutrion (6-9) 77-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Valls Nutrion. Sitges was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valls Nutrion forced 21 Sitges turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Alejandro Alba (193-77) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Jordi Llagostera (180-95) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Valls Nutrion players scored in double figures. Pau Carretero replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and center Xavier Sabate (205-83) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sitges. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Valls Nutrion moved-up to eighth place in Group C-B, which they share with Igualada. Sitges lost tenth consecutive game. Sitges at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Valls Nutrion will face higher ranked Vive El Masnou (#7) in Barcelona in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sitges will play at home against Cerdalyola (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
