Regular Season Round 22: Istanbulspor - Mugla Orman 84-80

Very expected game when 18th ranked Muglaorman (2-20) lost on the road to eighth ranked Istanbulspor (13-9) 84-80 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Istanbulspor made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Istanbulspor outrebounded Muglaorman 45-28 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Walter Lemon Jr. (190-92, college: Bradley) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Istanbulspor's coach Hakan Yavuz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: Massachusetts) replied with 27 points and 4 assists and center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Muglaorman. Newly promoted Istanbulspor maintains eighth position with 13-9 record. Muglaorman lost ninth consecutive game. Muglaorman at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 20 lost games. Istanbulspor will face Gelisim (#14) in Izmir in the next round where they are favorite. Muglaorman will play at home against Final Genclik (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
