Regular Season Round 18: La Fecha - BVM 2012 71-84

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked BVM 2012 (9-5) beat 9th ranked La Fecha (6-9) in Arroyo Encomienda 84-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BVM 2012. La Fecha was better in fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BVM 2012 forced 23 La Fecha turnovers. It was a good game for American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: Amer.Internat., agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Brazilian center Dida Pereira (203-92, college: Sequoias CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Forward Arturo Sarmiento (193-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jorge Martinez (181-96) added 8 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for La Fecha. Four La Fecha players scored in double figures. La Fecha's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BVM 2012 have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group A-B with 9-5 record, which they share with Calidus Gal.COB. La Fecha lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with nine games lost. BVM 2012 will face league's leader Chantada at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. La Fecha will play against Ponferrada CDP (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
