Regular Season Round 21: Lorient - RAC Basket 91-75

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Lorient (8-13) defeated at home 4th placed Rueil (14-7) 91-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lorient. Rueil was better in third quarter 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lorient forced 23 Rueil turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida) who recorded 26 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Will Felder (201-91, college: Miami, OH, agency: Inception Sports) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rueil's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lorient moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Gries/Oberhoffen. Loser Rueil keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Lorient will face higher ranked Vitre (#14) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rueil will play against CFBB (#18) and hope to win that game.
