Regular Season Round 22: AZS PP - SMS PZKosz 53-106

Not a big story in a game in Poznan where 12th ranked AZS PP (2-18) was rolled over by fourth ranked SMS PZKosz (13-7) 106-53 on Saturday. SMS PZKosz dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to AZS PP's 24. SMS PZKosz forced 24 AZS PP turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by AZS PP's players. Power forward Adrian Bogucki (212-99) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Daniel Golebiowski (196-98) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five SMS PZKosz players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Mateusz Rutkowski (178-93) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Patryk Spojda (186-95) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SMS PZKosz have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with AZS PGd. AZS PP lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. SMS PZKosz will face Suchy Las (#11) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS PP will play on the road against Trefl II Sopot and hope to win that game.
