Regular Season Round 18: Recklinghausen - Itzehoe 74-91

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Itzehoe (9-9) beat on the road 12th ranked Recklinghausen (3-15) 91-74 on Saturday. Itzehoe made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Recklinghausen turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Kaimyn Pruitt (203-90, college: Adams St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Forward Qarraan Calhoun (203-86, college: Houston) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Chris Iles (180-89, college: Xavier, LA) who recorded 22 points and 7 assists and power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Five Itzehoe and four Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Itzehoe moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Schalke. Recklinghausen lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Itzehoe will meet at home Schalke (#6) in the next round. Recklinghausen will play against the league's leader SSV Lok Bernau (#1) and hope to secure a win.
