Regular Season Round 16: Lucca - Broni 70-43

Seria A1 top team - Lucca (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Broni (4-12) 70-43. The game was mostly controlled by Lucca. Broni managed to win third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Broni to just 7 points in first and second quarters and to 14 points in first half. Lucca dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Broni's 30. Lucca forced 30 Broni turnovers and outrebounded them 47-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American-New Zealand guard Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Kayla Pedersen (193-89, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Lucca's coach Mirco Diamanti felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Nigerian Ndidi Madu (188-89, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Agnese Soli (168-87, agency: LBM Management) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Broni. Lucca have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Broni lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Vigarano. Lucca are looking forward to face Venezia (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Broni will play against La Spezia (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
