Regular Season Round 18: Valle de Egues - Valladolid Univ. 83-77

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Valle de Egues (7-8) won against 6th ranked Valladolid Univ. (9-6) in Olaz 83-77 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Valle de Egues forced 21 Valladolid Univ. turnovers. It was a good game for Ivorian power forward Kouassi Konan (204-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. Javier Valderrey contributed with 19 points for the winners. Javier Martinez (187-97) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Axel Castillo (194-88) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Valladolid Univ.Valladolid Univ.'s coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Valle de Egues moved-up to seventh place in Group A-A, which they share with Muro Basquet. Loser Valladolid Univ. keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Valle de Egues will face Zarautz Ulacia (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
