There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Roseto (11-9) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Udine APU (10-10) 79-67 on Sunday. Udine APU looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Allan Ray (188-84, college: Villanova) who scored 30 points and 4 assists. Nigerian-American swingman Stan Okoye (198-91, college: VMI) chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds. American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) produced 25 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Udine APU maintains tenth position in A2 with 10-10 record. Loser Roseto keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Udine APU will face Chieti (#14) on the road in the next round.
