Regular Season Round 17: Naft Abadan - Azad 75-60

The game between Top Four teams took place in Abadan. Second ranked host Naft Abadan (13-3) defeated 3rd placed Azad (10-6) 75-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Azad. The game was mostly controlled by Naft Abadan. Azad was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and the former international center Meisam Mirzaei (210-92) accounted for 12 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman J.P. Prince (203-87, college: Tennessee) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import power forward Joseph Jones (206-86, college: Texas A&M) added 18 points respectively for Azad in the defeat. Azad's coach Farzad Kouhian tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naft Abadan have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-3 record behind leader Petrochimi. Azad at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Naft Abadan will play against Tabriz (#4) on the road in the next round. Azad will play against Shahrdari Gorgan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
