An interesting game took place in Kiryat Ata where one of their biggest challengers Ironi Nes-Ziona (11-7) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (10-8) 89-82 on Tuesday. Ironi Kiryat Ata outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-92, college: St.John's) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Sagiv David (198-92) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Welsh Tal Michael Dunne (196-87) who recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Raviv Pitshon (201-89) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Ironi Kiryat Ata moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Macc.Rehovot. Loser Ironi Nes-Ziona dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Ironi Kiryat Ata will meet bottom-ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Galil Elion (#12) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Winner League just one year after relegation.
