Regular Season Round 33: Jilin NE T. - Tianjin GL 126-131

Everything went according to plan in Changchun where eleventh ranked TianJin Steel (17-17) beat 14th ranked Jilin Tigers (12-21) 131-126 on Wednesday. TianJin Steel looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. TianJin Steel's coach Rajko Toroman used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Jabari Brown (193-92, college: Missouri) who recorded 43 points (!!!) and 7 assists and the other American import forward Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St.) added 31 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. TianJin Steel maintains eleventh place with 17-17 record. Jilin Tigers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. TianJin Steel will meet higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jilin Tigers will play against Beijing Ducks (#8) and hope to secure a win.
