Regular Season Round 34: Toros - Panteras 95-67

The game between third ranked Toros (21-13) and 5th ranked Panteras (18-14) in Nuevo Laredo on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Toros outscored guests from Aguascalientes 95-67. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Panteras managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toros shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) notched 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86, agency: Pro Sports) supported him with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Coach Jose Martinez Boglio's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 15 points by the former international center Isaac Gutierrez (204-84) did not help to save the game for Panteras. The former international swingman Jorge-Alfredo Casillas (196-90) added 7 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Toros have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Toros maintains third position with 21-13 record having eight points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Loser Panteras keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Toros will again meet at home Panteras (#5) in the next round. Panteras will have a break next round.
