Regular Season Round 7: Guantanamo - Camaguey 46-68

Bottom-ranked Guantanamo (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to third ranked Tigres (4-3) 68-46. The game was mostly controlled by Tigres. Guantanamo was better in fourth quarter 8-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tigres held Guantanamo to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Strangely Guantanamo outrebounded Tigres 29-12. It was an exceptional evening for Angel Ibanez who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 steals. Guard Carlos Villegas (197-94) accounted for 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Elvis Pons (194-83) came up with 13 points and guard Raudelis Guerra (191-93) added 11 points and 5 steals respectively for Guantanamo in the defeat. Guantanamo's coach Yuniel Cruz gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tigres maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader Villa Clara, which they share with Capitalinos. Guantanamo lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost.
