Regular Season Round 13: Fukuoka Rizing - Tokyo HT 81-56

Date: February 9, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 4th placed Tokyo HT (14-10) was rolled over on the road by first ranked Fukuoka Rizing (21-3) 81-56 on Thursday. Fukuoka Rizing dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 32. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 44-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Takuya Komoda (190-87) chipped in 18 points. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Fukuoka Rizing. They maintain first place with 21-3 record. Tokyo HT lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
