Regular Season Round 6: UNINASSAU - Blumenau 81-66

Rather predictable result in Recife where second ranked UNINASSAU (8-4) defeated 5th ranked Blumenau (3-9) 81-66. The game was mostly controlled by UNINASSAU. Blumenau was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Raphaella Monteiro (181-95) who led her team to a victory with 18 points. Swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four UNINASSAU players scored in double figures. The former international center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Leila Zabani (181-91) added 15 points in the effort for Blumenau. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UNINASSAU have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-4 record having just three points less than leader Corinthians. Newly promoted Blumenau keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. UNINASSAU's next round opponent will be Sampaio (#4) in Sampaio Basquete. Blumenau will play at home against the league's leader Corinthians/Americana and hope to win that game.
