Taiwan Beer managed to secure a 8-point victory 99-91. 27 personal fouls committed by KKL helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists. International Po-Hsun Chou (197-91) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Taiwan Beer players scored in double figures. Taiwan Beer's coach Chia-Hua Yan used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) produced a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and the former international forward Shun-Yi Hsiao (192-92) added 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectivelyfor Taiwan Beer. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Taiwan Beer. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-9 record behind leader Dacin Tigers. KKL at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 19 games lost. Taiwan Beer's next round opponent will be Yulon Luxgen (#4).
