Regular Season Round 20: Cambados - Sammic ISB 79-70

Round 20 in LEB Silver means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Cambados where host Cambados (13-7) beat league's leader Sammic ISB (14-6) 79-70 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sammic ISB. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sammic ISB won third quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cambados dominated on the defensive end, holding Sammic ISB to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sammic ISB's 34. The best player for the winners was point guard Adrian Chapela (192-94) who scored 14 points and 4 assists. Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Cambados players scored in double figures. Swingman Ander Garcia (194-89) produced 18 points and New Zealand center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cambados have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Avila. Sammic ISB at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Granada. Sammic ISB will play next round against Agustinos-Leclerc trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cambados will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked L'Hospitalet on the road.
